The Chapel of St. Basil is one of the oldest rock-cut chapels in the Göreme Open Air Museum. Dedicated to St. Basil the Great, one of the most influential figures in early Christianity and the founder of Eastern monasticism, the chapel reflects the origins of monastic life in Cappadocia.
