Hot air balloon flights in Cappadocia depend entirely on weather conditions and official flight permission. Even when the weather looks calm from your hotel, conditions at higher altitudes or in the landing areas may be unsafe.

Strong or Unstable Winds

Wind is the most common reason for cancellation. Balloons move with the wind, so pilots cannot control the exact direction of travel. Strong winds, sudden gusts or changing wind directions can make take-off and landing unsafe.

Rain, Snow and Poor Visibility

Rain and snow can affect balloon equipment, visibility and landing conditions. Heavy cloud, fog or low visibility may also prevent pilots from identifying safe routes and landing areas.
